'''ہیملٹن''' کا شہر [[کینیڈا]] کے صوبے [[اونٹاریو]] کا ساحلی شہر ہے۔ جب جارج ہیملٹن نے ڈیورنڈ کا فارم [[1812ء]] کی جنگ کے فوراً بعد خریدا تو اس جگہ کا نام انہوں نے ہیملٹن رکھا۔ جلد ہی یہاں لوگ بہت بڑی تعداد میں آ کر بسنے لگے اور جھیل اونٹاریو کے مغرب میں گولڈن ہارس شو کے علاقے میں اسے صنعتی مرکز کا درجہ مل گیا۔ یکم جنوری [[2001ء]] کو ہیملٹن کے شہر اور دیگر مضافات کو ملا کر میونسپلٹی بنا دی گئی۔ یہاں کے باشندوں کو ہیملٹونین کہتے ہیں۔ [[1981ء]] سے یہ میٹروپولیٹن کا علاقہ کینیڈا میں 9ویں اور اونٹاریو میں تیسرے نمبر پر بڑا علاقہ ہے۔
