Malan Hans is an ancient tribe settled in the northern regions of Multan, Muzaffargarh, and Jhang. His ancestors are said to have belonged to the great Dogra Raja, Malan Hans Dev of Jammu, the founder of the Manhas Empire, or the Malan Hans clan of Rajputs. The Malan Hans are a Suryavanshi Rajput tribe from the Jammu, Himachal, and Punjab regions in India and Pakistan. It is a branch of the Jamwal Dogra Rajputs, who were the founders of the city and state of Jammu and ruled it from ancient times until 1948 AD. The Minhas tribe in Pakistan speaks Punjabi and lives in central Punjab. While the Milan Hans tribe lives in South Punjab and they are mostly Saraiki in term of language [1]

Some history books consider the Malan Hans tribe to be part of the Jat clan, which is more authentic, according to some historians. According to some sources, the Malan Hans, along with other Jat tribes, were the people who fought against the armies of Alexander the Great. In Multan, Muzaffargarh, Lodhran and Jhang, these tribes mainly adopted agriculture as their source of income. [2]
