Automatically cited references

If <ksh_code> is specified, a reference called "ksh cite" will be used three times in the template. It should be set up in <population_footnotes> in the following form:

|population_footnotes = 11111<ref name="ksh cite">[{{ksh url}}33118 Csomád] at the [[Hungarian Central Statistical Office]] {{hu icon}}. 1 January yyyy</ref>

In this example replace 33118 with the <ksh_code> for the place and Csomád with the name of the place.

The article must have a {{Reflist}} template or <references/> tag for this to work.

Ideally this rubber-stamp will be placed into the {{Infobox Hungarian settlement}} code, but code limitations in the Wikimedia software means that this is not currently possible (as of January 2010), since template parameters (such as {{{ksh_code}}}are not elaborated in external references, and must be specified literally.

How to find the KSH code

The KSH code can often be found by hovering over the equivalent article in the Hungarian Wikipédia, or by going to the KSH site for a place (for example Süylsáp at http://portal.ksh.hu/pls/portal/cp.hnt_telep?NN=21713 and then typing its name in the "Településnév" ("Area name") field at the top. The Hungarian Wikipédia buries the code in subtemplates, so this latter is often the easier route, whether or not you understand Hungarian. As of January 2009, the portal dislikes not being provided with the code of an existing settlement, so it is best to go from one that is known, and search from there.
