ویکیپیڈیا میں خوش آمدید,

خدا کے نام ہر مذہب میں اور ہر زبان میں الگ الگ ہیں، خدا کی صفات ذاتی اور عام طور پر ہر مذہب اور زبان میں مماثلت کی حامل ہیں کہ وہ خالق ہے، مالک، ہے رز‍ق دینے والا، گناہ معاف کرنے والا، رحم کرنے والا اور دعا سننے والا۔ پھر بھی مختلف مذاہب میں خدا کی کچھ خصوصیات الگ ہیں دوسرے مذہب سے، جس وجہ سے اس مذہب میں خدا کا کچھ ناموں کا مطلب وہ نہیں ہوتا جو باقی مذہب میں ملتا ہے۔ جیسے مسیحیت میں صلیبی موت کے عقیدے نے مسیح کو اکلوتا، بیٹا، روح القدس کا نام دیا گیا ہے۔ جبکہ اسلام میں خدا کے ناموں میں واحد ہے، جس کا معنی ہے کہ وہ صرف ایک ہے، اس کا کوئی بیٹا نہیں۔ مسیحیت، یہودیت میں خدا کو یہوداہ، ایلوہیم، ایل، وہ، میں جو ہوں سو میں ہوں، جیسے نام بھی دیے گئے۔
زبانوں کے فرق سے انسانوں نے اس مالک الملک ہستی کو کہیں اللہ، کہیں ایشور، کہیں گاڈ، کہیں یہوواہ، کہیں اہور امزدا، کہیں زیوس، کہیں یزداں، کہیں آمن، کہیں پانکو اور کہیں تاؤ کا نام دیا۔ دنیا بھر کے مذہب میں مختلف زبانوں میں اس ہستی کے لیے بیسیوں نام پائے جاتے ہیں۔
